Jennifer Lame (born 1981/1982) is an American film editor. She is known for her work on Manchester by the Sea, Hereditary, Tenet, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and the films of Noah Baumbach. In 2023, Lame edited Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. She is a native to Narberth, Pennsylvania, and is married to film producer Craig Shilowich. Jennifer Lame was born in 1981 or 1982 in Philadelphia. Her father is Tony Lame, a former contributor to The Philadelphia Inquirer as well as KYW-TV. She attended Episcopal Academy and, in 2004, graduated from Wesleyan University. Lame started editing films with Price Check. She has become a recurring collaborator on Noah Baumbach's films, including Frances Ha, While We're Young, Mistress America, The Meyerowitz Stories, and Marriage Story. She also edited Paper Towns, Manchester by the Sea, Tyrel, Hereditary, Midsommar, Tenet, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Oppenheimer. Following a traumatic incident at his old school and the divorce of his parents, intelligent but bashful Paul Conway and his mother Jeannie move to the town of Welling, Pennsylvania for a fresh start. Although the subject of ridicule by bullies for his weight and by the townspeople for his having created an artificially intelligent robot named BB, Paul finds new friends in the form of newspaper delivery boy Tom Toomey and the beautiful young girl living next door, Samantha Pringle, who suffers constant abuse from her alcoholic father Harry. But when both BB and Sam are taken by the cruel winds of fate, Paul can't bring himself to let go. Using all his scientific might, he successfully revives Sam by implanting BB's microchip into her brain, only to discover too late that he's transformed her into a terrifying monster, hellbent on revenge against those who wronged her and Paul.
