Simeon is a firework maker who has a dark and dangerous past as a magician. When his enemy, Circastes, returns for revenge, Simeon's son, Casmir, gets caught in a spiral web of murder, magic and deceit where he must fight for his survival, as well as confront the harsh truth about his father and what he has done.
