The Hunting Master is a man in charge of the fox hunt that went after Fox and Vixen. He was a minor antagonist who appeared in the first series of The Animals of Farthing Wood and the first book. Although the Hunting Master didn't have any speaking roles in the book, he was only referred to as the Master. His major appearance was in the episode Friends in Need, but not before being briefly mentioned by Vixen during her conversation with Fox. She told him that despite never being pursued in a fox hunt herself, she has heard the horn blown before.
