Coran Hieronymus Wimbleton Smythe is Allura's royal advisor and the (self-proclaimed) "Grand Strategist" of the Castle of Lions. In the Chargeshock Thompson & the Justice Avengers series, he's the man who knows where every screw in the building is and why Adrien's toaster broke.
Physical appearance
Coran looks like an eccentric gentleman of indeterminate age, with orange-tanned skin and pointed ears. His most iconic feature is his orange mustache, which he grooms with a special oil made of altean crystals.
They wear brightly colored suits (purple, orange, or blue) with royal Altean accents, but always with a utility vest on top, full of strange measuring instruments.
Personality
Coran is exuberant, hyperactive, and a walking encyclopedia of useless galactic traditions and facts. He has a tendency to use strange units of measurement that no one understands (like "ticks" or "doubles") and to recount memories from ten thousand years ago as if they happened yesterday.
Beneath his comical facade, Coran is a brilliant tactician and veteran engineer. He is extremely protective of Allura, seeing her as his own daughter.
Abilities
Advanced Altean Engineering: Can repair anything from a blender to a Warp engine using just a paper clip and a power crystal.
Strategy Genius (Unconventional): His plans seem crazy, but they always work at the last minute.
Xenobiology Expert: Knows everything about every creature in the universe.
Relationships
Officer Derrick Thompson: Derrick looks at Coran with a mixture of respect and utter confusion. Coran keeps trying to "upgrade" his police car with levitation technology, much to his dismay.
Lance McClain: They're an unbeatable comedic duo. Coran supports Lance in all his failed romantic plans, offering him "Altean seduction advice" which usually involves ritualistic foot dancing.
Sally Gómez: Sally learned to tolerate him after Coran built her a camouflage system that makes her "invisible even to her own scent."
Princess Allura: Due to both being the last survivors of a lost world, their bond has evolved from one of protocol into a deep adoptive father-daughter relationship.
Trivia
Coran believes that "pizza" is a failed biological experiment by Earthlings, but he secretly eats it because he likes tomato sauce.
His mustache has its own "artificial intelligence" (according to him), warning him when an enemy is approaching.
He has a collection of 400 types of scarves, which he changes depending on the "galactic vibe" of the day.
