Mari is a 2021-introduced and all around-character. She is a student at Mermaid High, and a main character in the Animated Series. She loves squid ink pasta & her "Mer-Style" is Metal & Mesh. She debuted in the Series 1 doll lineup.
Might've been a random sequel/spin-off to What Will Fictional Characters Be For Halloween? but the roles are costumes and the suggestions are just characters.
