Placide (French: /pla.sid/) is a man in the encampment of sane mutants in the Main Boiler Room of the Basement. He was a longtime professional plumber prior to his transformation. Placide has merged with the water pipes of the building, and can perceive through and control them. He has been using his control over the pipes to maintain the Apartment Building's access to hot water. If he is killed, showers will have cold water and restore less Hygiene. He is already familiar with Sam, having seen him through showerheads.
