Laverne DeFazio is one of the main characters of Laverne and Shirley, originally appearing on its' parent show Happy Days. Laverne is known for being a sassy tough-talking tomboy. She was born and, in her early childhood years, grew up in Brooklyn. She is played by Penny Marshall.
