Madame Adelaide Bonfamille is a fictional supporting character in Disney's 1970 animated film of The Aristocats. She is an elderly Frenchwoman who is a very wealthy retired opera actress and the owner of Duchess and her kittens. Bonfamille has no family or any other living relatives while living past her prime, so she plans to make her last will and testament with the help from her eccentric lawyer, Georges Hautecourt where she plans to leave her entire fortune to her pets after her time comes, unaware that her butler, Edgar Balthazar had overheard the conversation of her plans via speaking tube from his personal quarters and is distraught that Duchess and her kittens will inherit everything she owns instead of him based on him believing in the old wives' tale of all cats having nine lives where he plots to get rid of them.
