Roy is a playable character and the protagonist of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. He is the son of the Marquess of Pherae, Eliwood. Roy also makes a cameo appearance during the epilogue of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Though a Fire Emblem character, Roy made his worldwide debut in Super Smash Bros. Melee and is considered, alongside Marth, a contributing factor in the localization of the Fire Emblem franchise internationally.
