Released in 2010, Christmas Kids by Roar depicts the abuse endured by singer Ronnie Spector (nee. Bennett) at the hands of her husband, famed music producer Phil Spector. During their six year marriage, she was subjected to psychological torment and forbidden to perform or even leave their home by Spector. The title comes from an anecdote of him surprising her on Christmas with adopted twin boys as a "gift."
