The makara is a form of pishacha (in this case, produced by an etheral body inhabiting the body of a whale). A number of them were endowed by the Emperor Ganishka and controlled by Kushan sorcerers. The makara were mainly used during the attack on the harbor of Vritannis. Daiba deems them as "the chiefs of pishacha", adding that a single makara is capable of sinking ten warships.
