Fred is a cygnet, a baby swan, who is a friend of Lloyd the Llama. He has a British accent and he knows where his mother is hiding but his mother reveals that she is a swan! So Lloyd takes him home to his mother.
Obviously, don't nominate any human characters. Hybrids like Cheetah or The Lizard are okay, as are shapeshifters with one set animal form (eg Professor McGonagall.)
