Thatch was the pet Irish wolfhound of the Welsh pirate and Assassin Edward Kenway. He was named after the pirate Blackbeard Thatch, whom Edward had befriended. Thatch's throat was slit by attackers during the assault on the Kenway Mansion in 1735.
Obviously, don't nominate any human characters. Hybrids like Cheetah or The Lizard are okay, as are shapeshifters with one set animal form (eg Professor McGonagall.)
