Far Cry New Dawn is set 17 years after the nuclear apocalypse that concluded Far Cry 5, where players, as the Security Captain Halt , must help survivors in Hope County, Montana, rebuild amidst a new threat from the bandit group, the Highwaymen. Led by the ruthlessly efficient Twins, Mickey and Lou, the Highwaymen seek to control the region's remaining resources, forcing the player to forge alliances, craft weapons, and upgrade their home base, Prosperity, to push back against the Highwaymen and Joseph Seed's new, nature-focused faction, New Eden.
