Sam Rockwell (born November 5, 1968) is an American actor. He is known for playing distressed police officer Jason Dixon in Martin McDonagh's crime drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The following year, he was nominated in the same category for portraying in Adam McKay's political satire Vice (2018). In 2019, he portrayed Bob Fosse in the FX biographical miniseries Fosse/Verdon, earning a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award, and in 2022, he received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the Broadway revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo. Jason Brody, a young adventurer, and a group of friends decide to take a trip to an exotic tropical island in search of excitement and fun. However, their journey turns into a nightmare when they are captured by a band of mercenaries led by the ruthless Vaas Montenegro. Separated from his friends and trapped on an island ruled by violence and corruption, Jason is forced to fight for his survival. With the help of a mysterious local guerrilla named Citra, Jason ventures into the jungle and discovers that the island is full of dangerous enemies and wild creatures. To save his friends and escape the island, Jason must become a hunter and master his combat, stealth and survival skills. Meanwhile, Vaas Montenegro seeks to consolidate his power on the island and is willing to do anything to maintain control. Jason finds himself in a race against time to take on Vaas and free his friends before it's too late.
