What if Princess Fiona rejected Lord Farquaad's proposal in marriage and instead chooses to go with Shrek? This charade irritates Lord Farquaad as he wants both Shrek and Donkey dead or alive, but the Princess safely returned to him. Fiona tries to tell Shrek about last night, but Shrek is still heartbroken and angry. They hitch a ride on the dragon taking them to where the fairy tale creatures are held captive and are about to be executed. The third act is them trying to break them free and battle "King" Farquaad "the Tallest", all while Fiona reveals her secret to Shrek. The rest of the movie plays normally with the dragon eating Farquaad, Fiona staying her true ogre self, and living happily ever after with Shrek, the most charming ogre in fairy tale land.
