Darkwing Duck is a fictional character and the title protagonist and hero of the eponymous animated TV series of the same name. He is the not-so-mild-mannered resident superhero of the city St. Canard whose real name is Drake Mallard.
Darkwing fights crime alongside Launchpad McQuack, Scrooge McDuck's personal pilot and his adoptive daughter, Gosalyn Waddlemeyer, who are both aware of his secret identity. He has been called "D.W." mostly by Launchpad, and has called the former "L.P." in return on occasion. His catchphrase is, "Let's get dangerous!"
