Yakko is the wise-cracking, smart-and-fast-talking, oldest sibling—at 14 years old—who usually acts as the leader of the trio. He gets his name for his talkative nature being generalized as loquacious. As per his age and consequent obsession with girls, Yakko is responsible for most of the adult humor, saying "Goodnight, everybody!" after a joke that only adult viewers will understand. Yakko wears pants that are "smokey topaz" with a black belt. Animator Tom Ruegger's son Nathan is known for being the inspiration for Yakko.
