Yan Tsapnik was born on August 15, 1968, in Irkutsk, Russia.
He is a prolific Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, recognized as one of the most versatile performers in modern Russian cinema with over 200 credits to his name. The son of renowned actor Yuri Tsapnik, he studied at the Sverdlovsk Theatre Institute and the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinema (LGITMiK) before serving in the airborne forces. Tsapnik gained early fame for his roles in the cult crime series Brigada (2002) and has since become a staple of major Russian comedies and dramas, including Kiss! (Gorko!), The Ghost (Prizrak), and the series The Method.
