Root is a character in the Barnyard franchise. He is Peck's arch-rival. Root acts as a stand-up comedian and hosts the weekly talent show at the Barnyard. He often makes wisecracks at the animals when making jokes, which is part of his charm. Root can be arrogant and a bit of a jerk sometimes, but he was impressed with Peck being brave just for Hanna.
