After Lee Everett (Idris Elba) gets incarcerated for murdering a state senator who raped his wife, the cop car hits a walker causing it to crash, killing the officer driving it, and when Lee gets his cuffs off of the dead cop, the cop turns and attacks Lee, but fortunately, the cop's shotgun was nearby, and he shot the Cop, and then Lee runs away from a herd of walkers and comes across a house belonging to a little girl named Clementine, (Emma Tremblay, McKenna Grace) and he takes her in and raises her as if she was his own.
