As if fated by her birth name, Odysseus, undergoes a tremendous odyssey on her way to back home from the Trojan War. The ten years at war, witnessing mass bloodshed and the desecration of cities, was only the beginning of Odysseus' suffering.
Meanwhile in her homeland of Ithaca, her husband Penelope is holding strong despite the urgings of his suitors to move on, as well as raising a daughter, Telemachus, who's also impatient herself to see through to her destiny and do her best to rule Ithaca.
On the gargantuan trek home to Ithaca via boat, Odysseus endures trials, challenges, horrors, sacrifices, making her less like the queen who'd left home and more like a selfish monster.
The only worry gnawing at her heart is whether or not Penelope would even show affection to the woman she becomes after all is said and done.
