Chris and Mia are an engaged couple on the way to spend Thanksgiving at her parents' home in the country before Chris heads overseas for a work assignment. Along the way, they come across the scene of an accident and find one lone young woman, Jessamine, as the only survivor. She claims someone ran her and her friends' car off the road before promptly attacking them, she only managed to slip away and hide despite her injuries. She refuses the couple's offer to call the police, stating that she only wants to get home. Unable to get any cell service on the road, they all drive to a nearby gas station where they get in contact with Jessamine's brother to come pick her up. Once they've made sure Jessamine will be alright, the couple finally arrive at the home of Mira's parents and prepare to enjoy a nice holiday dinner, hoping to put the events of the day behind them. That is of course, until the individuals' responsible descend upon and invade the isolated country home. Unfortunately, because of the house's automatic lockdown system, the family is trapped inside and must venture to the basement to let themselves out, all the while trying to survive the antics of this mad trio.
