Eva Gaëlle Green (born July 6, 1980) is a French-American actress and model. She started her career in theatre before making her film debut in 2003 in Bernardo Bertolucci's controversial “The Dreamers.” She achieved international recognition when she appeared in Ridley Scott's “Kingdom of Heaven” (2005) and portrayed Vesper Lynd in the James Bond film “Casino Royale” (2006). That same year, Green was awarded the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
The film is based on the early years of Elizabeth's reign, where she is elevated to the throne after the death of her half-sister Mary I, who had imprisoned her. As she establishes herself on the throne, she faces plots and threats to take her down.
