A four-and-a-half-foot gnome with jeweled fingers and yellow, crooked teeth, Trickfoot initially presents as a cowardly, groveling, and untrustworthy expert on Vecna lore, hired to guide the party to the Eye. His sycophantic whining and habit of turning invisible during combat make him an object of contempt, a seemingly pathetic creature of pure self-preservation. This is a mask. In a brutal betrayal, he murders Malanthius and reveals himself as Lord Vecna the Undying, the legendary lich-god of evil secrets, reborn into a gnome's body as his avatar on the material plane. After grafting the Eye and Hand of Vecna onto his body, his flesh withers and stretches into a towering, emaciated living corpse, and his voice deepens into a resonant, ancient boom of absolute, patient malevolence. He is a being of cosmic, patient evil who has waited millennia to return.
