Fan Casting Beldak in Dungeons & Dragons: The Hand of Chaos

An aristocratic sorcerer in his 40s, Beldak is the fanatically devoted right hand of the Cult of Vecna. He is a zealot whose entire identity is subsumed in worship, prostrating himself before Vecna and crying out declarations of devotion. Despite his groveling, he is a lethally competent arcane caster who leads the assault on Malanthius's laboratory, duels the young wizard to a standstill with Magic Missiles and a Phantasmic Sword, and summons a terrifying Aerial Servant to hunt the heroes' Roc across the sky. Even when horrifically burned and crippled, his fanaticism drives him to cast one last, desperate spell with his dying breath. He is a dangerous sycophant whose soul has been hollowed out and filled with servitude, a chilling portrait of total devotion to evil.
