A villainous and well-renowned assassin with skills so deadly he can kill using only his tongue. Tao usually charges a lot for his services. He is hired by the Red Ribbon Army to deal with Goku and take his Dragon Balls. At first, gains the upper hand, and even kills Bora too. However, after training with Korin, Goku defeats him in a rematch and defeats Tao using his own grenade. Using all the money he made as a mercenary, he returns as a cyborg along with his older brother, Master Shen, to defeat Tien Shinhan. However, Tien easily manages to beat him, prompting Shen to retreat with an unconscious Tao.
