Alexander "Alex" Proyas (born 23 September 1963) is an Australian filmmaker. He is best known for directing the films The Crow (1994), Dark City (1998), I, Robot (2004), Knowing (2009), and Gods of Egypt (2016).
After his mother was killed in a bargain with Mephisto that went wrong, Victor von Doom left his home land of Latveria to sought to increase his knowledge of both science and magic. After a project gone wrong, a scarred Doom returned to his homeland of Latveria to overthrow the leader and declare himself king, while wearing a suit of armor made for him by Tibetan monks.
