Our protagonist. Sarah comes from a rough background, growing up with a mentally unwell mother and abusive father. After running away with Roy Bellwood at age eighteen, she soon found herself not only pregnant, but trapped in another abusive situation, as Roy turned out to be just as awful as her father. Now that the two have separated, she's been trying desperately to make ends meet and provide for her young daughter, but it hasn't exactly been easy what with her job cutting her hours and Roy threatening for custody every waking minute. She sees the makeup gig as a means to start doing better, not at all expecting that it just might be the one thing that'll cause her grave danger...
