The snowstalker is a large predatory mustelid native to the tundras of Europe in 5 million AD, where it is the apex predator. Adapted for hunting in the winter ice and snow, it is distinguished by a pair of large sabre-like canines, which it uses to despatch its prey, preferentially large mammals such as shagrats. It is a solitary and territorial animal, coming together only to mate and raise cubs. The snowstalker is driven to extinction by climate change when the ice age comes to an end.
