When the world teeters between chaos and collapse, the ancient Helmet of Fate chooses a new bearer: Khalid Nassour, a gifted but disillusioned Egyptian-American med student with no interest in destiny. Haunted by vivid dreams of a golden age sorcerer and drawn to the enigmatic Tower of Fate, Khalid is thrust into a war he never asked for — between the Lords of Order and Lords of Chaos. Guided by cryptic visions of Kent Nelson, the original Doctor Fate who mysteriously vanished in a magical cataclysm, Khalid struggles to resist the influence of Nabu, the sentient force inside the helmet who seeks control over his body, mind, and soul. As ancient evil returns in the form of Mordru, an immortal chaos mage feeding off global unrest, Khalid must choose: surrender to a power greater than himself, or redefine what it means to wear the helmet and forge a new Fate. In a battle across mystical dimensions, ancestral memory, and modern identity, Khalid Nassour must become the sorcerer the world needs — even if it costs him everything.
