Michael Giacchino (/dʒəˈkiːnoʊ/ jə-KEE-noh; Italian: [dʒakˈkiːno]; born October 10, 1967) is an American film, television, and video game score composer. He has received many accolades for his work, including an Academy Award for Up (2009), an Emmy for Lost (2004), and three Grammy Awards. Giacchino is known for his collaborations with directors J. J. Abrams, Brad Bird, Matt Reeves, Pete Docter, Colin Trevorrow, Jon Watts, Gareth Edwards, Drew Goddard, J. A. Bayona, The Wachowskis, Taika Waititi, and Thomas Bezucha. His film scores include several films from the Mission: Impossible, Jurassic World, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Trek reboot series, eight Pixar Animation Studios films, multiple Disney films, Rogue One, The Batman, and several other films. He also composed the score for the video game series Medal of Honour and Call of Duty and the television series Alias, Lost, and Fringe. In 2018, he ventured into directing and, in 2022, directed the Marvel Studios Disney+ special Werewolf by Night. Plot: Khalid Nassour is an Egyptian-American medical student living in Brooklyn, New York and is working to get his doctorate in medicine. One day, he comes across in his family home old relics that belonged to his great uncle Kent Nelson, which include a broach that has the mark of an ankh, a very old yellow cloak, and a golden helmet which looks like it was worn by an ancient Greek general. He decides to try these relics on and he is sent into a different dimension where he meets two spirits. The first spirit is of Nabu, the Mesopotamian god of Wisdom and the other spirit is of the Phantom Stranger, an enigmatic cosmic being. They mentor Khalid in the use of the Helmet of Fate, the broach known as the Amulet of Anubis, and the worn cloak known as the Cloak of Destiny. A dark figure named Wotan also emerges from the shadows and it is up to Khalid to seize the initiative and to decide whether to grant Forgiveness as the Phantom Stranger advocates or Punishment as Nabu advocates. Post Credits Scene 1: Nabu and the Phantom Stranger report to their Bosses in the Lords of Order on Khalid’s training and informed about new threats from the Lords of Chaos. Post Credits Scene 2: The Star shaped alien approaches Earth and prepares to release spores.
