The year is 1974. After a series of accidents that lead to a life-changing and fatal car crash, Sam is diagnosed with bipolar disorder. To help him, his family sends him to a famous, beautiful and luxurious wellness center located on one of Hawaii's surrounding islands. There, he is introduced to the charismatic and illustrious Doctor Birch, a psychologist who cracked the code to how the brain works. Also on the island are a colorful cast of patients, including Delilah, a woman as beautiful as she is mysterious; former veteran George; and the sarcastic but charming Oliver, among many others. However, as time passes, Sam becomes aware of a dark secret underneath Doctor Birch's resort-like facility, and as dangerous truths come to light, everybody on the island will never be the same again.
