Channing Matthew Tatum (born April 26, 1980) is an American actor and producer. He made his film debut in the drama Coach Carter (2005) and had his breakthrough with the sports comedy film She's the Man (2006) and the dance film Step Up (2006). He rose to prominence for playing Duke in the action films G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) and G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), the title role in the comedy-drama films Magic Mike (2012), Magic Mike XXL (2015) and Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023), and an undercover cop in the action-comedy films 21 Jump Street (2012) and 22 Jump Street (2014). Tatum's other films include The Vow (2012), White House Down (2013), Foxcatcher (2014), The Hateful Eight (2015), Hail, Caesar! (2016), Logan Lucky (2017), and The Lost City (2022). He has produced several films, including the road film Dog (2022), which he also starred in and co-directed. He was named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2012 and one of Time's 100 most influential people in the world in 2022. New York police officer John McClane has moved to Las Angelas for the Christmas holidays to visit his wife at her work place, the towering Nakitomi building. After a brief argument between the couple, things go from bad to worse when a group of well-dressed (and mostly European) criminals show up and take the building over. With not much else going on and literal nothing else to do, John decides to sort his life out and win the heart of his wife back by taking out the criminals one-by-one.
