In The Devil’s Stray, thirty-year-old Faith, an introverted loner just moved out of her parents’ house, tries to carve out a new life as a dog walker. When she finds a stray dog with unnervingly human eyes, she feels an unexpected bond and decides to take him in, naming him Ozzy. But her relief at finally having a companion is short-lived. Ozzy begins to exhibit disturbing, almost human-like behaviors—isolating her from potential friends, sabotaging her social life, and gradually turning her world upside down. Strange marks appear on Fiona’s skin, and she feels an eerie presence constantly watching her. After a series of terrifying discoveries, she learns that Ozzy isn’t just a stray but a shapeshifting witch who needs her skin for a dark ritual to assume a human form. Fiona’s quiet life spirals into a nightmare, and with no one left to turn to, she must summon the courage to face the malevolent creature she invited into her home—or lose herself to its twisted hunger.
