Dejan Loyola is a Canadian Leo and ACTRA/UBCP-nominated actor and voice performer of half Sri Lankan, half Canadian with German heritage. Well known for booking a part in the television film Descendants as Aziz, the son of Aladdin and Jasmine, this Canadian actor also portrayed Dev Sakara in the series Saving Hope. He was cast as Rafi in the short-lived series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Growing up on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, his early experience in theatre and improv led to leading and supporting roles in film and television. Perhaps best known for his role as 'Dr. Dev Sekara' on CTV's Saving Hope, for which he garnered nominations for Best Emerging Performer and Best Supporting Male Performance, Loyola has also recurred on numerous other series, including iZombie, The Tomorrow People, and Once Upon A Time in Wonderland. He performed in an improv group at the Gulf Islands Secondary School and also attended the Gulf Island School of Performing Arts. Loyola resides in Vancouver, although it should be stated he is half Sri-Lankan having lived there when he was quite young during the nation's civil war. After losing his father in 2017 Loyola went through a substantial grieving process. His Dad, an artist himself, used to take him on ferry boats and drive him to auditions. In an interview with CTV Loyola stated his father always encouraged him to follow his dreams. Now the memory of his father serves as an inspiration as he continues to work in the field that he loves.
