Mr. Big is the alias of the main villain in the novel Live and Let Die and its 1973 film adaptation. In the novel his real name is Buonapart Ignace Gallia. Mr. Big is a powerful and ruthless Harlem gangster who operates a vast criminal empire, including smuggling British pirate treasure and funnelling the proceeds to Moscow. He is also revealed to be a top American operative for the Soviet counter-intelligence agency, SMERSH, which he uses to smuggle gold coins from the Caribbean. Mr. Big uses Voodoo and the psychic abilities of his prisoner, Solitaire, to maintain his power and influence.
