Dubbed as the Death Note, Light discovers that it has the power to take the life of any person by just writing said person’s full name. Intoxicated by the power over life and death that he wields, Light, adopting the moniker “Kira”, subsequently uses it to go on a murder spree, killing anyone he deems morally unfit to life, and in his twisted sense of justice and ambition, strives to establish a utopia free of crime, corruption, and war. Working to stop Light (who they don’t know is Kira) and end his reign of terror is an elite task-force of law enforcement officials that consists of members of the Japanese police force, led by the enigmatic detective, L.
