A deep-space engineer embarks on what should be a routine repair mission to the USG Ishimura, humanity's largest planet-mining vessel, only to discover the ship has become a floating graveyard. The entire crew has been slaughtered and reanimated into grotesque alien creatures called Necromorphs. Isolated millions of miles from help, Isaac Clarke must navigate the blood-soaked corridors of the dying ship while confronting both the horrifying monsters hunting him and the psychological demons of his own grief. As he searches desperately for his girlfriend Nicole among the carnage, Isaac uncovers a conspiracy involving an alien artifact called the Marker—an object that doesn't just kill, it transforms death itself into something far worse. Trapped between corporate greed, religious fanaticism, and an ancient evil that preys on human consciousness, Isaac must survive long enough to prevent the Marker's signal from spreading beyond the Ishimura. But in the cold vacuum of space, surrounded by the reanimated dead and haunted by visions of the woman he loves, Isaac will discover that the most dangerous thing aboard the ship isn't the monsters—it's the possibility that he's already lost his mind.
