Kent Nelson is a powerful sorcerer and the first Doctor Fate, a legacy of heroes in the realm of magic who act as agents of the Lords of Order in the battle against chaos, using the powerful Amulet of Anubis, Cloak of Destiny and Helmet of Fate. The son of archeologist Sven Nelson, Kent Nelson's life changed from a chance encounter with the Nabu and killed his father when releasing Nabu from suspended animation. Taking pity on the young boy, Nabu alters the boy's grief and makes him his student of magic. When his training was completed, he gave Kent the famed artifacts, making him the powerful hero Doctor Fate. Nelson is a member of the Justice League and The Justice Society of America.
