It's been nearly two years since Superman's colossal battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne, who had recently lost Jason Todd. The Batman had slowly gone a dark path through those 2 years to the point where even the GCPD is unsure if he is a ally, which Clark is concerned on. However, after the attack on the Capitol; Bruce is convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity and now he embarks on a personal vendetta to end him; possibly being the first kill he will ever commit. Behind the scenes, the conniving Lex Luthor launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel with the Proto-Amazo; but Bruce is on the case with a mysterious woman aiding him.
