Lana Parrilla is an Indigenous Puerto Rican, Italian, and Silician actress. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to an Indigenous Puerto Rican father, Sam Parrilla, and a Sicilian-Italian mother, Dolores Dee Azzara. Parrilla has spoken about her Indigenous Latina American heritage and identifies as such, despite having an appearance that is sometimes perceived as ambiguous.
