In this story, Sinestro already kicked out from GCGL because of the code violation for misused the influence of ring bearer. Now, he became the sole user of Yellow Sinestro Ring, but not became full fledge villain yet. The writing would portray him as an anti-hero in the film before became a public enemy in the next movie.
