After his failure to uphold the ideals of Clutch the Opossum and failure of killing Whisper, Tangle, and the other Diamond Cutters, Mimic ran into hiding with a scar given by his own dagger by Whisper. Then Starline gives him a job he's trigger-happy for: two cases of child murder, which are Surge and Kit. Despite having lost his reputation, Mimic is still a ruthless, menacing, and terrifying killer who cares for nobody.
