This is the first time after Dawn of Surge & Kit. Everyone thought he didn't come back afterwards. But that round, persistent menace is back. Robotnik believes Scourge is the key to destroying Sonic and Mobius, so he can have his revenge! He had allied himself with other Mobians before, but he always intended to betray them in the end. But now Scourge is the first hedgehog he actually likes!!! Eggman may not know where Infinite is, but he believes that Sonic and Mobius will finally fall before the Robotnik Empire!!!! He tells Sonic that with Scourge at his side, he has his LIMIT!!!!!!
