Months after Eggman was finally destroyed, Sonic thought he and his friends could finally be free to do what they want, as when we last saw them. The Resitance was changed into The Restoration, hoping to rebuild what Robotnik destroyed. But then some of Eggman’s robots were operational, and nor he, or Metal Sonic, were alive to reactivate them!
