After the events of Metal Chaos Part III, Silver, his sister Venice, Blaze, and then Marine decided to stay until they get rid of the bad future they survived prior to going to the past. When Silver saw it happen, everything turned to Metal, and the symbol he saw was Eggman's. He had a feeling that Robotnik would betray them, he just didn't know when. In the end, Silver knew he had to say good bye to Sally and the Freedom Fighters, the rest of the Resistance, and even Sonic while he, Venice and Blaze go back to the future that they now fixed.
