Vector, from the very start, always wanted to propose to Vanilla after knowing each other for so long, but never got the chance to because of the events of Metal Chaos Part II. Also, his mind has been more focused on his friends whom he treated to be like his brothers and sons. He looked after them ever since they met and seeing them hurt both emotionally and physically weighs his heart down. Finally, at the end, when it was all over and all worries were dealt with, Vector asked Vanilla to marry him.
