Amy has been held captive by Neo on the rebuilt Death Egg for the past three days. When Sonic goes solo to where Tails found Amy's signal, he found her tied up and gagged only to see, thanks to Amy's warning, that it was a trap. Obviously, this is reminiscent of Dawn of Sonic and Amy where the exact same thing happened. After she got free, Amy dedicates the rest of her life and the movie to not be a damsel in distress ever again. You'd think she lost trust in Sonic after all this time, but no. Her love for her hero is unwaveringly powerful. Not even a fleet of Death Eggs could stop it.
