Mephiles is the living embodiment of darkness itself and was locked away in a seal by brave warriors thousands of years ago, to make sure he and his pet Iblis could not destroy Mobius. (look in Iblis' description for more details) But the seal broke during Silver's time by Mammoth Mogul and vowed to go back in time using Silver to recreate the past how he would have wanted it. Now Mephiles wants complete control over Iblis so he could destroy the world himself.
